Depression in summer is weird. It’s not dark and brooding, for me - it’s white and hazy and confusing. You feel very absent from everyone and everything and all the light seems a little too bright for your tired eyes.
All I want is for people to see me and immediately think
“omg she’s so small”
“omg she’s so skinny”
“Does she even eat”
“I bet she weighs like nothing”
“How is she so small”
Understanding when you are full is a important factor to remember when combatting overeating. Here is a master post of all the tips and advice you guys were so kind to send in. Disclaimer: i’m not a medical professional these are just community gathered tips and advice gained through personal experience in attempt to help combat overeating, a seriously unhealthy and destructive behavior. If you have more tips feel free to add them in the notes of this post.
Simple tip I learned was this “do I want a salad now or a steak later”. The steak hypothetically represents your favorite food. If you pick the steak and say I can wait for it (this is hypothetical you won’t really be eating a steak later) then your not hungry. You’re just bored and craving food. If you say alright whatever i’ll eat the salad, which in this case represents a food you are not really fond of. Then you know you’re hungry and not just craving, because you’re willing to eat a food you don’t really like just for the energy and nutrients.

“take at least 15-20 minutes to eat even if its a small meal drag it out. become a slow eater. it takes your stomach 15-20 minutes to send hormones to your brain letting it know that you are full.” -anon

Supplement your meal with a generous helping of water. good for your skin and prevents binges.
